Mama Shelter

Restaurant

On the ground floor, a restaurant with simple family style dishes conceived by Alain Senderens and Jérôme Banctel, an enormous bar that also serves the purpose of being chichi, a brasserie, and a terrace where you might run into American poets, Japanese painters, or Latin American writers. The space is not a prisoner to design. It's simple and functions as a cultural wink. There are several « winks » in this space, and it's up to you to look for them and reflect on them. Have a seat in one of the arm chairs near the chimney, which has been filled with illuminated candles yet to extinguish themselves. Hanging all along these common areas is an enormous curtain from which a crowd of happy faces looks out, arms outstretched, as if they are asking for an affectionate embrace from mankind.
